MicroCut has established a list of frequently asked questions for those unfamiliar with the wire EDM process. Please review the following:

Q. Do you sell or manufacture wire?
A. No, MicroCut uses wire to cut parts to your specification.

Q. What is the smallest wire cut hole?
A. There are several variables that determine the minimum hole size. Our normal size is approximately .015" diameter, but with certain conditions it could be smaller. Please contact us.

Q. What are the range of surface finishes?
A. Finishes vary depending on material. Our best wire cut finish is 10 micro inch.

Q. What wire sizes does MicroCut use?
A. Our smallest wire size is .004" diameter and our largest size is .012" diameter.

Q. Can you cut blind holes?
A. No. The wire must pass thru the material. Conventional EDM is required to burn blind holes.

Q. Does MicroCut have conventional EDM machines?
A. No, however we partner with conventional shops if wire EDM & conventional EDM is required.

Q. Do you re-use the wire?
A. No, wire cannot be reused only recycled.

Q. What Cad/Cam software do you use?
A. We employ Go Elan "C".

Q. What type of files do you accept?
A. We can read many of the standard files which include DXF, DWG, IGES, PDF & CADL.

Q. How many wire machines do you have?
A. We have 7 wire EDM machines for high production capabilities. MicroCut has the capacity to produce 1 part to 200,000 + parts.
